January 100 burpee challenge rules
Step #1: Do the 100 burpee challenge. You have by the end of the weekend (January 4th) to complete the challenge.
Step #2: Immediately after you do the challenge, snap a photo (a video works too) of yourself post-challenge. Post it to either Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook along with your current time AND the amount you’ve improved from last month (make sure to tag #12minuteathlete). You can also email your photo to me at [email protected] (use the subject ‘100 burpee challenge photo’ so I can actually find your photos).
Step #3: I’ll look over all the photos and times and send a shirt of your choice to you (or whoever you want)!

First burpee challenge: 6:30
Well, this was my first effort. 12:11, and I actually switched to squat thrusts after 15 because I was never going to make it doing full burpees. I’m definitely looking forward to that number going down!
My first burpee challenge … and a challenge it certainly was! The idea of going sub-10′ is beyond my imagination at the moment! I came in at 27:15. Did it in sets of 5 to break it up and so that I wouldn’t freak out too much. 🙂
July – 12.21, august 11.05, september 10.15, october 10.05, november, nothing, december, couldn’t finish, so, back into it, 12.37. So worse than my starting, but better than last month.
I did my first one in December in 10:32. The main mistake I made was to try and do them non-stop; I kind of collapsed a bit after doing about 30 and decided to pause for a small rest between each remaining 10.
Today I stopped and counted to 10 after each 10 burpees, and this knocked my time down to 9:24.
11:47, improvement of 0:38 since Dec (improvement of 0:08 since Nov).
missed out on doing the Jan. burpee challenge the 1st weekend due to being ill. I had recovered by this past weekend and posted a time of 6:16. A little disappointed as I had been under 6 for the previous 3 months. Time to get back on track in Feb!!
