100 Burpee Challenge Update (+ T-Shirt Contest!)

100 burpee challenge

I am so incredibly impressed at how you guys have been taking on the 100 burpee challenge.

Doing 100 burpees in a row is tough, you guys! Mentally and physically, you really have to push yourself to complete every last one. Seriously, even if you attempt doing 100 burpees in a row, you should consider yourself to be a serious badass.

As of tomorrow, it will be our third month doing the challenge, and I couldn’t be more proud so far. After each one since we started in February, I’ve received so many comments/emails/Facebook posts/tweets/etc. about how great you felt after the challenge, how much your time improved from one week to the next, how you never thought you could do 100 burpees in a row but you did it anyway, and other similar awesome comments.

So as something extra fun to celebrate and recognize your guys’ hard work, I’ll be giving away a free shirt to the person who has the most improved time from last month!

At first I thought about giving a shirt to the person with the overall best time, but since the core of this challenge is all about personal improvement, I thought this would be way cooler (and more motivating).

Because it’s not about what other people can do—it’s all about you and how much you push yourself to be better, fitter, and stronger than you ever knew was possible.

And yes, I do realize that if this is your first time ever doing the 100 burpee challenge, you’ll need to sit this contest out (but still do the challenge!). Don’t worry though—I’d like to make this a monthly thing to keep you guys motivated and excited about staying fit, so work hard this time around and make sure to record your time so you can enter next month’s contest.

100 Burpee Challenge contest instructions

Ok, so here’s the deal:

Step #1: You do the 100 burpee challenge. Since I know some of you prefer to save your harder workouts for the weekends, I’ll give you by the end of the weekend (a.k.a. May 4th) to complete the challenge.

Step #2: Post your time AND the amount you’ve improved from last month’s challenge in the comments of this post. I’ll try and make sure to look on Facebook/Google+/my inbox as well, but if you want to make sure I see your time, post it here.

Step #3: I’ll look over all the times and send a shirt of your choice to you or whoever you want!

Sound good? Awesome!

Get ready for those burpees, and don’t forget to work as hard as you can!

    • Hi Saleem. Keep going, you’ll get there! This was my first attempt and I was determined to do 100 no matter how long it took. I had to stop after each set of 10 for a breather and sip of water. I finished the 100 in 29:28. I’m happy, not bad for beginner fitness level 53 year old!! Can’t wait to try it again next month 🙂

  2. 7:44 on my first attempt. I quit smoking a couple months ago, but I still struggle with it. I’m hoping that if I can get active enough I’ll be able to stop for good. I’m sweating and shaking, but I feel really AWESOME. Thanks for the motivation to keep going!

  4. First go at this -6.09. But I think your way of doing them is way harder than the way I’ve always done them, as I don’t drop chest down to the ground. Will try some of yours before next month!!

  6. 9:40 was my first attempt last saturday. My girlfriend only did 40 in that time. The rest of my Xfit team (fellow employees) and our trainer bailed out and refused to do it, so I am happy. Next month I want to get under 9:20.

  9. The hardest challenge on Earth! I don’t know what hurts more, my body or my mind! Didn’t beat my personal best, but crushed it! Full push-up, full explode jumps and clapping hands on top! Can’t wait to do it again next month! Here are my stats from Polar:

  11. I did 100 in 14:21. I wanted to beat 15min to set my own PR. Can’t wait to beat 12min although I am already seeing improvements: first time i attempted the 100 challenge, i did the first 20 in 2:21; second time i did 20 in 1:41! and saw improvements on stamina throughout. Love it! Looking forward to the Android app!!

  13. First attempt last month was 15:52:92min, and I could barely stand at the end. Today I attacked them at 11:23:66!!! Still a work in progress, but congrats to all those that were able to get there!

  14. All you athletes rock!

I was aiming to beat 10 minutes — no go. I did better than last month. Last month was 12:23, and today was 10:47. Math math math, that’s 96 seconds better, right? Worked hard on pushups and squat jumps this month for gymnastics – which you inspired me to sign up for Krista :). I love it.

I started the challenge this morning., made it to 30 and bailed out. But it was bugging me. Started over this afternoon and finished. Glad I did. Thanks for this!

  19. Last month was my first time–11:37. Granted, my main goal was just to get through it. This week, 8:56. That’s 2min 33s improvement. Hooray for the fitter, faster, stronger workouts.

  20. Question? The way you demonstrate them in the video aren’t they technically “sprawls”?? I feel like I’m lying when I say 100 burpees… Btw I did 60 in 6:40 and am going to try a second attempt today!

  21. Burpees are one movement that no matter how tired you are, you can keep at it no matter how slow you do it. This is my first attempt at this challenge, and did it after my 4mile training run for a 1/2marathon. My time was 13m41s. My goal is to get to doing them all unbroken.
