How is 12 Minute Athlete different from other health and fitness programs and apps? 12 Minute Athlete gives you quick, intense and effective workouts you can do in just around 12 minutes a day with little or no equipment. The workouts are based on high intensity interval training (HIIT) to get you stronger and fitter in less time, and can be done as standalone workouts to improve your overall athleticism or as an accompaniment to any other sports or activities you enjoy.

Who is the site and app for? Both the website and the app are for athletes of all levels. Whether you’re male or female, young or old, a fitness guru or total newbie, 12 Minute Athlete will get you results—as long as you’re willing to work hard.

How did 12 Minute Athlete come about? When Krista used to work in a gym as a personal trainer, she would work out for hours a day and was always exhausted and overtrained—yet still thought she wasn’t training enough. So she got pretty excited when I discovered high intensity interval training (HIIT) for the first time and realized she could get better results in way less time. 12 Minute Athlete came about after she realized how much fitter and stronger she was getting and wanted to share it with others and change as many people’s lives as possible.

About Krista Stryker – Founder

Krista Stryker, NSCA CPT is the founder of 12 Minute Athlete, a high intensity interval training (HIIT) program of incredibly effective workouts that you can do in around just 12 minutes a day with minimal equipment and no gym membership.

A former personal trainer, Krista used to spend hours in the gym before discovering HIIT and getting stronger, fitter and faster than ever before—in way less time. Now, as founder of 12 Minute Athlete, her goal is to help others discover their inner athlete and ditch their excuses for good.

Through her blog and the popular 12 Minute Athlete HIIT Workouts app she helps athletes of all levels get in the best shape of their lives in the shortest amount of time possible.

She loves learning new skills including boxing, Krav Maga, sprint triathlons, and most recently, gymnastics. She also loves to read, travel, and explore the San Francisco Bay area with her husband and dog.
