6-Week Fuel Your Body Nutrition Challenge


Although we definitely focus more on fitness than nutrition here on 12 Minute Athlete since that’s my main passion, there’s no question that nutrition is an incredibly important piece of getting—and staying—fit and healthy.

You’ve probably heard that how you look is only 10% exercise and 90% what you eat. And unless you have a crazy active job or happen to be a professional or endurance athlete, that’s a pretty accurate breakdown.

What you eat not only determines how fit you look, but also how good you feel, how mentally focused you are, and how energized you are throughout the day.

And let’s not forget another important thing nutrition does for you—it fuels your workouts, so you can get fitter and stronger and accomplish all your fitness goals and dreams.

Because of these reasons and more, I’m excited to announce the first 12 Minute Athlete 6-week challenge and our brand new Facebook group. This initial challenge will focus on fueling your body through proper nutrition and officially starts Friday, February 5th. So get ready!

The 6-Week Fuel Your Body Nutrition Challenge Rules

Here’s how this six week challenge is going to go:

Each week we’ll post the upcoming week’s nutrition focus (and the reasoning behind why it’s so important) on the Friday prior to the week ahead. This will give you time to do any grocery shopping or planning you’ll need for the week. We’ll also send out an email reminder, but I really encourage you to join our Facebook group in order to get the most out of the challenge.

Throughout the week we’ll be posting our own meal photos and recipe ideas, and of course encouraging you guys and responding to any questions you might have about that week’s focus.

The goal is to show you just how simple proper nutrition can be and how you can fit healthy eating into your life no matter how busy you are. Because it’s not as hard as you think to fuel your body right!

I think this will be a really fun experiment and I’m really excited to be able to connect with you guys on a more personal level.

Here’s what we expect from you during this challenge:

To make sure that you commit to the challenge and actually do your best to fuel you body the best possible way, we want you to share pictures or videos of your healthy meals once or more a week. More is always welcome!

Also, if you have a delicious recipe to share (whether it’s your own recipe or a link to one of your favorites), or if there is anything you’re currently struggling with, make sure to share it with us in the Facebook group.

Let’s make our Facebook group a fun place to support each other, because we all have the same goal—to fuel our bodies so that we can kick ass in our workouts and life!

Week #1: Eat a Protein-Packed Breakfast

Our first weekly focus will be to get you guys consistently eating a protein-packed breakfast. We’ll tell you all about why this is important in our Friday reminder, but you can expect recipe ideas, food photos that will make you hungry, and of course, lots of encouragement!

Remember, the challenge gets started this Friday, February 5th and you can take part when you join our Facebook group.
