12 Minute Athlete Full Workout Videos Are Here

12 Minute Athlete videos

Ok guys, you asked for it, and we listened: 12 Minute Athlete full workout videos are finally here.

So many people have told me recently that they’d like me to post videos of the entire workouts so they can follow along or just see how all the exercises fit together in a 12 Minute Athlete workout. So, I’ve made it a goal this year to post a new one every week or so starting now.

Here’s the first one from last Friday’s Speed Demon AMRAP Challenge workout in case you missed it:

So how’s it going to work?

Every week (well, almost every week—I don’t have a video crew so there will probably be a few missed weeks a year), I’ll upload a video of me doing the entire workout, screw ups and all so you guys can see just how hard I work and follow along if that’s your thing. For the most part, it’ll just be one of the workouts from that week, although I’ll also be taking requests if there’s a favorite workout of yours you’d like me to film.

Now, keep in mind, these videos will probably evolve over time, so don’t hesitate to give me your feedback as time goes on. If you’d like to see something in particular, let me know (but also know that I can’t respond to every single one of your requests).

Also, it’s probably best that you know now (in case you haven’t figured it out already) that I am no Jillian Michaels, or other TV fitness superstar, nor do I ever want to be.

What exactly does this mean? That I am not going to be ‘super trainer’ in the videos. I am awkward, smiley, and not incredibly graceful nor natural in front of a camera. But since I’ve never actually wanted to be a TV personality I think that’s absolutely OK, and hope you do too (if not, no one is forcing you to watch them).

Also, these workouts are tough, and as you’ll see, they’re tough for me too—meaning I just don’t have the energy to boss you through the entire thing!

Where to find the full workouts

Wondering where to find the full workout videos?

I’ll try and remember to post a link in the day’s workout, but your best bet is to subscribe on Youtube or follow me on Facebook or Google+ to always get reminders of new ones.

Oh, and if you have a workout video request or something specific you’d like to see in the videos, send it to [email protected] and say something like “Video request” in the subject line so I don’t miss it.

Now go kick some serious workout ass!

  2. Thanks for the video! It’s not only useful to see how the workout goes, in full motion, but also to see it human (I feel inspired and heartened to see the workout be tiring and a little messy, and to see you push through it).

I’d love to see the videos progress toward being more completely real-time and not cut and edited. Maybe have the graphics announcing each exercise show up on a portion of the screen (or moving across it), so that it doesn’t break the movement and momentum. Also, it might be better if you didn’t announce each exercise each time you did it; I think it’s better to see you actually concentrating on your workout, rather than addressing the audience frequently.

Keep it up, and so will we!
