As much as I love basic protein pancakes, sometimes it’s nice to mix things up a bit.
This chocolate almond protein recipe is moist and delicious, packed with a serious amount of protein and perfect for breakfast or as a post-workout meal. Give them a try!
Here’s your chocolate almond protein pancake recipe:
1/2 cup egg whites
1/4 cup cottage cheese
1/4 cup old fashioned or gluten-free oats
1/2 serving (about 1/8 cup) chocolate whey protein powder like this one
1 Tbsp almond butter
Total prep time: 5 minutes
Total cooking time: 10 minutes
Blend together all the ingredients (I used a handheld blender), then put a nonstick pan on the burner at medium heat. Once the pan is hot, pour the batter into your desired pancake shapes (smaller pancakes are easier to flip).
When little bubbles start forming on the pancakes and they’re lightly browned on one side, flip the pancakes. Fully cook the other side, then serve with whatever you like! I topped mine with some greek yogurt, fresh fruit and little more almond butter and mmm they were delicious.
